Data scientists are going down in history for new fields of work they are doing in AI. But many are not thinking about the impact this work has on people. As creators of AI systems we have a responsibility to understand that we are creators of systems that will be used in much broader ways than we can currently foresee. Its time to learn how to think critically and broadly about the applications of projects you take on, challenge yourself and everyone around you, and find the courage to speak up and push back when ethical boundaries get crossed. This session will focus on real life examples of data science and AI that have gone bad and what to do about it if you find yourself facing the same situations.
